Senior Quantity Surveyor, Highways

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and provide core commercial services for our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced QS to make the step up to senior QS, initially taking responsibly for major subcontract packages on a large highways project in Greater Manchester area.

The role

  • Full time, permanent.
  • Based remotely with regular travel to sites in and around the Greater Manchester area (up to 2 days per week).
  • Initially providing contractor-side quantity surveying services for a major highways project.
  • Must have experience working on highways projects, or other similar infrastructure projects such as utilities, rail and/or other types of civils.
The resource(s) providing the services will
  • Have a degree in a construction or quantity surveying related discipline.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Preferably be a member of a relevant Professional Institution or working towards membership.
  • Have an in depth understanding and experience of contractual and commercial processes.
  • Have contractor QS experience, taking full responsibility for main contract commercial management and subcontract procurement / management.
  • Have a good working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Be client focused and able to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
  • Be a self-motivated team player that demonstrates excellent judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Be flexible, positive and engaging, with a desire to learn and develop through exposure to different types of clients and projects.
Remuneration and benefits
  • £50,000 – £65,000 salary (depending on experience/qualifications).
