Senior Quantity Surveyor, Highways

Overview

CappKind is an established professional services provider to the construction industry, regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). We support our clients (both end clients and contractors) with some of the largest capital programmes in the UK and abroad.

We are currently expanding and looking for talented, forward thinking commercial professionals to support us. We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support our team and provide core commercial services for our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior QS, initially taking responsibly for post-contract responsibilities on a highways project in Birmingham.

The role

  • Contract, expected 12 months+, 40 hours per week.
  • Hybrid working – site based in Birmingham (3 days per week), working from home (2 days per week).
  • Initially providing contractor-side quantity surveying services for a bus route and junction improvement highways project.
  • Resources must have experience working on highways projects, or other similar infrastructure projects such as utilities, rail and/or other types of civils.
The resource(s) providing the services will
  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Have an in depth understanding and experience of contractual and commercial processes.
  • Have contractor post-contract QS experience, taking full responsibility for main contract administration and client engagement.
  • Preferably have a degree in a construction or quantity surveying related discipline.
  • Preferably be a member of a relevant Professional Institution or working towards membership.
  • Have a good working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Be client focused and able to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
  • Be a self-motivated team player that demonstrates excellent judgement and decision-making skills.
Rate
  • Up to £420 per day (depending on experience/qualifications of the resources providing the services).
