We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team and provide core commercial services for our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for an assistant QS to make the step up to QS, initially taking responsibly for our education clients requirements. The role will expand over time to cover other wider building projects for clients in the education, commercial and residential sectors.

The role

  • Full time, permanent.
  • Based remotely or at our Leeds office, with regular travel to sites in and around the Leeds and wider Yorkshire area (up to 2 days per week).
  • Initially providing client-side quantity surveying services for a education projects.
  • Must have experience working on education, or other similar building sector projects such as residential or commercial property.
The resource(s) providing the services will
  • Have a degree in a construction or quantity surveying related discipline.
  • Have a minimum of 18 months’ relevant experience.
  • Preferably be a member of a relevant Professional Institution or working towards membership.
  • Have an in depth understanding and experience of contractual and commercial processes.
  • Have client-side QS experience, taking full responsibility for pre-contract and post-contract RIBA Plan of Work quantity surveyor activities.
  • Have a emerging working knowledge of NEC or JCT forms of contract.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Be client focused and able to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
  • Be a self-motivated team player that demonstrates excellent judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Be flexible, positive and engaging, with a desire to learn and develop through exposure to different types of clients and projects.
Remuneration and benefits
  • £35,000 – £45,000 salary (depending on experience/qualifications).
